The launch of Aos Fatos’ new visual identity and website is the highlight of the celebrations for its ninth anniversary this Sunday (7th). This project, developed over a year, reflects significant changes in the landscape of misinformation and outlines strategies to combat this phenomenon effectively.
Aside from enhancing the reader’s experience, the new website updates the editorial policy and introduces Aos Fatos’ brand new artificial intelligence policy. It also reorganizes the structure of the topics covered by Aos Fatos. From now on, all fact-checks and investigations will include an initial summary and an explanation of the verification process. Additionally, references and sources supporting the articles will be given more prominence.
Tai Nalon, the executive director of Aos Fatos, noted, “This stage we are inaugurating today represents the high level of maturity achieved by Aos Fatos. It is not only a global reference in fact-checking, but also sets the public debate agenda and is a pioneer in the ethical use of technologies like artificial intelligence. The new identity consolidates this trajectory.”
Over the years, Aos Fatos has transitioned from fact-checking to also investigating disinformation campaigns and social phenomena surrounding the problem. Simultaneously, it has focused on developing technological products and diversifying revenue beyond journalism. AI-based tools such as the chatbot Fátima, the transcriber Escriba, and the misinformation monitor Radar have renewed prominence on the site.
Bruno Fávero, director of innovation at Aos Fatos, stated, “The new website, developed by Aos Fatos’ technology team, is the result of consistent investment in innovation since the company’s founding. The change gives more prominence to products like Fátima and Escriba, and modernizes the site’s structure, making it faster and ready to accommodate projects that will be created in the coming years.”
The new graphic design project of Aos Fatos, developed by a distinguished design studio from São Paulo, Alles Blau, aligns the organization’s maturity with a renewed visual communication strategy. The site offers usability improvements and new content arrangements, including new thematic channels, as well as editorial markers that distinguish fact-checks, reports, and analyses.
The redesign reaffirms Aos Fatos' commitment to providing verified information that helps people make better decisions and monitor public policies based on facts and evidence.
